Who We Are

We are a congregation creating a better world by nurturing the heart and expanding the mind. We provide a safe, caring community where all can freely explore diverse religious thought. We work for justice and equality with the power of compassion and compassionate power.

You are invited to share in our congregation’s care and concern for one and all by joining us for coffee, tea, cocoa, and conversation after the Sunday Service as well as by attending any of our social events.  We build our beloved community by sharing the moments of our lives, large or small — births, weddings, joys, sorrows, and happenings at home and at work.  Let us share in your life’s moments.

We are proud to be an official UUA Welcoming Congregation.  Neither gender, race, ethnic origins, religious belief, nor sexual orientation are factors in determining who is welcome in our congregation as guest member, or employee.  The purpose of our congregation is to encourage each other in spiritual growth.  We value diversity while recognizing the unity of all life.  Therefore, we respect each other in our searching and growth.  We invite you to join us in your journey of seeking and growth.

   The living tradition we share draws from many Sources:

• Direct experience of that transcending mystery and wonder, affirmed in all cultures, which moves us to a renewal of the spirit and an openness to the forces which create and uphold life;
• Words and deeds of prophetic women and men which challenge us to confront powers and structures of evil with justice, compassion, and the transforming power of love;
• Wisdom from the world’s religions which inspires us in our ethical and spiritual life;
• Jewish and Christian teachings which call us to respond to God’s love by loving our neighbors as ourselves;
• Humanist teachings which counsel us to heed the guidance of reason and the results of science, and warn us against idolatries of the mind and spirit;
• Spiritual teachings of earth-centered traditions which celebrate the sacred circle of life and instruct us to live in harmony with the rhythms of nature.

These principles and sources of faith are the backbone of our religious community.
